Question by Sad Larry (Some Loser With Hair): How is a 3D TV different from an HDTV if you still need to wear those glasses?

I mean there’s going to be a gaming device called the 3DS (Nintendo) that has a 3D screen that doesn’t require glasses

There are tvs that don’t require glasses to do 3d. Right now no tv company is selling them for home use but you can sometimes find them in stores and other businesses being used for advertising and such. If you have ever seen the cover to the Final destination 3d movie on dvd it looks like the face on the cover pops out in front of cover. Sometimes post cards or baseball cards have 3d covers that you can see 3d without glasses. Anyway the tv screen works like those. Half the pixels of the screen angle to the left and go only into your left eye and the other half angle to the right and only go into your right eye. Other 3d tvs that don’t have this special screen must use glasses so each eye only sees one of two pictures at a time.
